This may be the most advanced feature available in the MVI Live Stats system. It allows you to run, save and export custom reports using an advanced interface to allow for maximum flexibility. To create your own custom report, click on the Create Custom Report link located on the top right-hand side of the Custom Reports section. This will take you to a screen with 4 sections that you can fill out to determine what your custom report will contain and how it will be displayed. The 4 sections are:
Select Date Range - This allows you to select a date/time frame for which you want the report to be ran.
Customize Search Criteria - This allows you to have the custom report only contain visits which match the criteria that you select and/or enter here.
Select Fields To Display - This part gives you the ability to select which fields will be displayed on the custom report.
Run Report - This is where you determine how the custom report will be displayed. Checking View will display the report right away, checking Export will save the data into your Saved Exports section and checking Save will save all of the selected settings so that you can run the report again in the future. You only need to enter a Report Name if you check the Save box.
Once you click the Run Report button, if you checked the View box, you will be taken to a results screen which will display all of the visits which matched your custom report criteria. If you did not check the View box, then you will be taken back to the main custom reports screen. From the results screen, you will be able to see all visits that match your custom report and have the ability to click on the Details icon for any of them to see their full details including all pages viewed and all events triggered.
Back at the main Custom Reports screen, you can re-run, export, edit or delete any of your previously saved custom reports. From this same screen, you also have the ability to download or delete any of your previously saved exports.
This feature allows you to add/edit/delete event triggers that are used within the MVI Live Stats system. Event triggers are used both to calculate metrics on how often your visitors take certain actions and to also notify you whenever a specific event is triggered. To create an event trigger, click on the Create Event Trigger link located at the top right-hand corner of the Event Triggers screen. This will take you to another screen which will allow you to name your event trigger and set all other options associated with it. There are 4 possible types of event triggers which are:
Page View - This type of event trigger requires you to place a special piece a code on a specific page of your site. Whenever someone goes to that page, the event is triggered.
Criteria Match - Allows you to have an event triggered whenever a visit matches a certain criteria. For instance, you could have an event triggered every time someone from the state of Florida visited your site.
Total Page Views - With this event trigger, you set the amount of total page views that you want a visitor to reach and upon reaching that total, the event is triggered. So if you wanted to be notified every time someone views at least 5 pages on your site, you would set up one of these event triggers and set it to 5.
Total Time On Site - If you want to know whenever a visitor has been on your site for more than a certain amount of time, you would set up one of these event triggers. For example, if you wanted to be notified every time someone stays on your site for more than 5 minutes, you would set up one of these event triggers and set it to 5 minutes.
This section allows you to use/manage the MVI Live Stats live chat system. The main Live Chat screen has different icons that you can click on to accomplish different live chat related tasks along with a complete explanation on how to get live chat up and running on your site. Below is a list of what each live chat sub-section does.
Launch Chat Monitor Window - This is where you go to actually sign into the live chat system as an operator. When you click on this icon, you will be taken to a screen which asks which operator you want to sign in as (an operator can only be logged in once). Once you select your operator, a live chat monitor window will be displayed. You MUST keep this window open in order to stay logged into the live chat system. Whenever someone on your site requests a chat, this window will pop up and sound an audible ringing tone to notify you that someone has requested a live chat session. The first operator to click on the Chat icon will be the one that will handle the session in question.
Settings - From here, you can set up how live chat will behave on your site. There are several options available so make sure you go through and set all of them up in a way that makes the most sense for you.
Departments - Allows you to add/edit/delete live chat departments. Departments are groupings which operators belong to. When an end-user requests a live chat, they select which department they want to communicate with and then only operators which belong to the department in question will receive the live chat request in their live chat monitor window. By default, the system is configured with one General department. We suggest that you set up your departments as needed (ex: sales, support, marketing, etc.) in order to better direct who receives your chat requests.
Operators - Allows you to add/edit/delete live chat operators. You can only have as many live chat operators as what you are currently paying for. If you are paying for 5 chat users, then you can have up to 5 chat operators.
Chat Sessions - This section gives you the ability to review any chats that have occurred in the past along with all of the information of the visitor which requested the chat.
This section allows you to set global settings used by MVI Live Stats. From here, you can set the time zone used throughout the MVI Live Stats system, setup which site host names should be used to capture analytics data and setup any IP addresses that you want filtered out of all of your analytics data.
This section simply displays the tracking code that you need to put on the pages you wish to have MVI Live Stats track. It is presented in a text box which allows for easier copying and pasting.
